We are excited to announce a return of Free Doctor consultations to Healthy Community through Telemedicine. When COVID - 19 began, we at Healthy Community shifted our model and looked to provide hygiene kits and food to those in need. Unfortunately, due to safety risks, this meant suspending the in person mobile medical pop-up clinics. Even as we continued to provide for those in need, we looked for ways to return to bringing doctors and underserved patients together - the core of our organization and mission. In the medical field, many doctors began using Telemedicine to provide care. After several months of use, many of our medical providers spoke highly of the experience. Although not the same as in - person care, Telemedicine helped to ensure those with injuries or maladies could still get the care they needed. Over the past 2 months, we have been working with our providers and conducting several trial runs at different Healthy Community Events, and are happy to report that Telemedicine is being rolled out to all future Healthy Community Events.
